Guehi : The road to the World Cup is still a long way off

England defender Marc Guehi remains calm about the situation ahead of their European 2026 World Cup qualifiers in Group K, where they have secured a perfect six points without conceding a goal, but the road to Canada, Mexico and the United States is still a long one.

The Three Lions beat Latvia 3-0 yesterday, with Kehi playing the full 90 minutes without any awkward moments at Wembley Stadium.

However, the Crystal Palace centre-back sees this as just the beginning of an adventure with a long way to go.

“It was a good win, a clean sheet and it’s done,” he told Ufabet Sport.

“The visiting teams at this stadium made it difficult for us, but England did well today as a team to unlock the first goal.”

“We were able to pick up the pace, build relationships, and overall it was a good week.”

Guehi also spoke about his teammate Palace’s England goalkeeper Ebereshi Eze. Saying he was delight because the man was so dedicate.

“I’m absolutely delighted for him,” the 24-year-old added.

“Every time he comes on, he brings something to the team. I’m glad they gave Eze that role.”

“There is always room for improvement. We still have a long way to go before we achieve our goal of qualifying for the finals.”
